Dehydration is common during these hot summer months, especially if you spend any time exercising outdoors. The only way to avoid dehydration is to drink enough water. Yet, people often refer to water as a boring staple in the diet, but it doesn’t have to be! This simple 5 minute, 2-ingredient recipe for Watermelon Lime Ice Cubes will quickly flavor your water without any added sugar.
Make them ahead of time and add to water or seltzer for a sweet and refreshing hydrating drink. Or better yet, add them your favorite summer cocktail for a refreshing twist!
Watermelon Lime Ice Cubes
Watermelon Lime Ice Cubes are a great way to flavor water without any added sugar. The perfect refreshing drink for summer. Whip up a batch and store them in your freezer!
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped watermelon
- juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon mint leaves
Instructions

Add watermelon, lime juice and mint leaves to a food processor or blender and blend until it becomes a liquid.

Pour the liquid into the ice cube tray, and freeze for at least 2 hours.
Nutrition Notes:
- Watermelon juice has been show to alleviate muscle soreness.
- Watermelon is a good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Potassium.
- Vitamin A is important for maintaining eye health as we age.
- Vitamin B6 is needed to break down protein. More Vitamin B6 is needed with greater protein intake.
- The potassium and water in watermelon can help prevent muscle cramps. Pack some in a cooler for your next beach volleyball game!

What can you add in the juice to stop its separation for a long time
Unfortunately I don’t think there is anything you can add to stop the separation. But the watermelon cubes melting into the water makes it taste really good!
What if you don’t like the taste of mint?
You can definitely leave it out!
